Exhibition “With love, Taisiya…” – 45 paintings made by self-taught artist Taisiya Shvetsova from Russia.
Taisiya Shvetsova was born in the village of Steshkovo, Vologda region in Russia in 1937. In 1945 she was orphaned and was brought up at a boarding school in the town of Kirillov,Vologda region, where she obtained a secondary education.
After graduating from the Pskov Pedagogical Institute she worked at a village school as a teacher of Russian and literature, as a librarian and a teacher of history. Since 1951 she has lived in Pskov. She has no professional art education. She began to paint in 1996. Some of her one-person art shows were held at the Pskov Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. In 2000 her one-person exhibition was held at the Museum of Naive Art in Moscow.
She took part in the touring exhibitions of the Museum of Naive Art: “Pushkin`s images created by naive artists of Russia” (1999) and “I saw a new heaven” (2001), as well as in the Moscow international festival of naïve art “Fest-naive-04” and “Fest-naive-07”. The artist`s works are in the collections of the Pskov Historical, Architectural and Art Museum and the Museum of Naive Art, Moscow
